Wendy Lang – CEO

Wendy has over 20 years experience in management, 15 years in the Australian Public Service, administering the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander National Education Policy and more recently, 9 years experience in the  Queensland public service as a Studies Director with the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE. Formal qualifications held are a Diploma of Teaching (Prim); and a Bachelor of Management.

Tom Evans – Finance Manager

Tom is the longest standing employee with QYS, having worked with the organisation since 2004. He has extensive experience in a range of bookkeeping functions including but not limited to, purchasing, pay clerk, quality assurance, and workplace health and safety. In 2009 Tom participated in the Skilling Queensland program’s recognition of prior learning and obtained a Diploma of Business. Tom also has the Certificate IV in Workplace Training (2001).

Debbie Robinson – Office Administrator

Debbie has been with QYS since 2016, initially working with the YHaRS team in Admin and Aftercare support. In 2018 Debbie stepped into the role of QYS Office Administrator. Debbie has more than 10 years’ experience in Office and Financial Management and prior to that worked in the casino industry for 12 years. Debbie has also completed her Advanced Diploma in Business, Advanced Diploma in Business Management (Human Resources) and is currently completing Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management. Debbie is also JP Qualified.

Amanda Skinner – Reconnect Program Team Leader

Amanda commenced with QYS in 2017 as the Social Enterprise Manager for the Recycle Your Dreams Empowering Youth Initiative.  Prior to that Amanda has worked as the General Manager of Consumer Business for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys. In June 2019 Amanda joined the Reconnect Team as their Team Leader. Amanda completed her Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing and Human Resource Management and is currently studying for her Masters of Business Administration.

Ruth Martin – Young Parents Programs (YPP) Coordinator

Ruth has worked for QYS in the Young Parents program since 2007. Prior to this she worked in the education and special education sector for 4 years. She also operated a small business in Info Tech, designing web sites, retail, and software training. Ruth‘s qualifications are: Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Psychology.

Marina Cross – Townsville Youth Housing & Reintegration Service (TYHaRS) Program Coordinator

Marina has worked in the community services field for approximately 13 years across a variety of diverse government and non-government roles, including Dept Child Safety, Queensland Corrective Services, Queensland Police Service and Foster Care Agencies. Marina first joined the YHaRS Team at QYS as a Senior Case Worker in January 2015, experiencing a number of years of complex case management of young people before moving into the Coordinator role in January 2019. Marina has obtained a Bachelor of Human Services, Certificate of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Diploma of Public Safety, and has also completed extensive training in interviewing children, child protection services and trauma-informed care. Marina also has a passion for delivering training and is a qualified trainer and assessor, having devised and delivered a number of professional development workshops on Protective Behaviours to community services staff and foster carers within the community.
