Earlier this month we were notified that QYS has been successful in gaining the following funding:-
$10,000 – Suncorp / Qld Police Safer Community Grant
The YSC’s and the YHaRS program will combine their efforts to operate two camps at Cape Cleveland for MALE ‘first time’ offenders or those siblings of offenders that are likely to offend. These camps will run an early intervention program which includes Red Dust Healing and male mentoring. A steering committee is currently being formed to start the selection process of participants.

$5,000 – Breakwater Island Casino Community Grant
This funding was applied for to operate the Young Parents Swim Safe Program which includes swimming lessons for babies over 6 months and First Aid lessons for the Young Parents of these babes. Currently Ruth has started booking in the young parents for their First Aid classes and swimming lessons will operate as soon as classes are available.
