Did you drop by and say hi at Triple T 103.9’s 40th birthday bash this past weekend? We sure did!
In an effort to spread awareness about QYS’ programs and services, and to recruit more volunteer mentors for LearnIT, Murray and mentor Bob were out in full force at the recent Triple T Open Day.
Mayor Jenny Hill visited us, sharing her particular interest and support of our newest program, Project Overhaul, which targets youth at-risk of engaging in offending behaviour in vocational gateways. Cr. Hill shared that teaching trade skills to young people was a definite plus to youth engagement and early intervention in our community.
We also had a surprise visit from undercover Rotarian, Steve Greenwell, from Thuringowa Central Rotary Club. The Thuringowa club have been huge supporters of LearnIT since 2018 and continue to be a pillar of strength for the program.
